Routt County conditions: 10/06/26 Fall colors are going off!

Welcome to the best week of the year to be hiking and biking in Routt County!
Emerald Mtn: Open, Ridge + Rotary CLOSED for trail work.
Fish Creek Falls: Open, $5 parking.
Mt. Werner XC trails: OPEN.  Bike Park and all mtn operations (lifts, etc.) CLOSED for the season.
Mad Creek, Red Dirt, Spring Creek: OPEN, $5 to park at MC & SC trailheads. Red Dirt TH busy and Red Dirt has frequent hunter/pack horse traffic for the next weeks.
Yampa River: River is CLOSED to all rec uses. Give the fish a break.  62F and 51cfs.
Elk River: 56cfs.
Stagecoach SP:   Lake is OPEN but marina CLOSED.
Steamboat Lake SP & Pearl Lake: Steamboat Lake water levels dropping quickly. Marina CLOSED.
Seedhouse Rd: Open. Be careful with campfires. Get to Slavonia TH early for parking spot.
Sand Mtn, Farwell, Zirkels: OPEN. Hiking great and color is popping!
FS 500 (Big Red Park): OPEN for exploration up to WY border, and beyond!
Rabbit Ears/Divide: Forest closure order still in effect within 500’ of Fishhook fire footprint. NEW Trail 19 OPEN via Bruce’s TH. Divide clear.
Buffalo Pass: OPEN. Parking @ Dry Lake is $5/car.

Emerald Mtn: Open, clear of downed trees, hero dirt. Beall Tr OPEN.
Fish Creek Falls: Open, $5 parking.
Mt. Werner trails: OPEN.  Bike Park Fri-Sun schedule thru Oct 4. Rustler’s Ridge will have intermittent reroutes.
Mad Creek, Red Dirt, Spring Creek: OPEN, $5 to park at MC & SC trailheads. Red Dirt TH busy and Red Dirt has frequent hunter/pack horse traffic for the next weeks.
Yampa River: River is CLOSED to all rec uses. Give the fish a break.  57F and 82cfs.
Elk River: Super low at 41cfs.
Stagecoach SP:   Lake is OPEN but boat ramp closing any day now. Call for status. Morrison Cove boat ramp shut for the season.
Steamboat Lake SP & Pearl Lake: Steamboat Lake water levels dropping quickly. Marina is day to day.
Seedhouse Rd: Open, no campfires outside permitted fire pits and grills. Get to Slavonia TH early for parking spot.

FS 500 (Big Red Park): OPEN for exploration up to WY border, and beyond!

FS 500 (Big Red Park): OPEN for exploration up to WY border, and beyond!
Rabbit Ears/Divide: Forest closure within 500’ of Fishhook fire + West Summit N, Bruce’s and Fox Curve THs. Divide clear, Mtn View has some trees down near Long Lk.

Mt. Werner trails: OPEN. Helicopter logging continues.  Bike Park Fri-Sun schedule thru Oct 4.
Mad Creek, Red Dirt, Spring Creek: OPEN, $5 to park at MC & SC trailheads.

Biking season is on! CRs 14, 44, 33, 52, 54, 56, 62 etc. all riding well.
Emerald Mtn: Open and covered with flowers and bears except for Beall which is closed until Jul 1. Also Hwy to Hell closed 6/8 only for maintenance. Avoid leaving ruts/prints when trails are freshly soaked.
Fish Creek Falls: Bridge CLOSED until July 1st.
Mt. Werner trails: Pioneer cleared! Zig Zag rerouted, Right-O-Way closed for construction. Bike Park OPEN.
