Steamboat sets a new overnight snowfall record. Life is good.
Sunday night into Monday February 19th/20th.. Over 27 inches in 15 hours (mostly overnight). Over 4 feet of snow in 3 days. After a winter of fits and starts and moaning and groaning – last week had all of Steamboat Springs thinking winter was back, things are normal, and life is good again.

Of course, the skiing has been decent for a long time, but with record setting snow at the ski area, the skiing suddenly became great.

Folks were complaining about sore legs and low cardio fitness because no one had been skiing as regularly or as hard as we would in a normal winter. As the saying goes, “If your gonna be tough you’d better be ____.”

The pic is of Eloise skiing Buffalo Pass north of Steamboat Springs this past Monday. No one has seen her smile so big during a day of skiing for a long time. That could be said for everyone in Steamboat Springs.

Life is suddenly normal… and very very good.
