Baby, it’s gonna get cold outside

– Specialized cool weather riding gear is the key to extending your cycling season and Ski Haus is the only place in town to get it!

booties, glvoes, tights, for cold weather ridingThe official start of Fall is right around the corner, and here in Steamboat Springs cooler temperatures are already evident. While Fall is an excellent time of year for cycling, those morning and evening rides can be downright frosty.

Cool weather gear just happens to be one of our specialties. We can warm up your ride with few simple adjustments to your cycling attire. Specialized Arm and Leg Warmers ($35 – $60) offer a full 360-degree wrap of Therminal, a super soft proprietary fabric designed for warmth and comfort. Spandex cuffs with internal and external silicone print gently hold the warmers in place while allowing full articulation, and low volume seams provide less bulk and improved layering performance.

Specialized BG Deflect gloves ($40.00) are also a must have. Let’s face it; your brakes only work if your fingers are functioning well enough to operate the brake lever! A wind-resistant softshell upper will help to avoid frozen fingers while the Wiretap technology allows you to operate your touchscreen devices without removing your gloves.

Should your riding season venture past the fall chill and into the winter cold, we also carry the Specialized Deflect H2O Shoe Covers ($50.00). The watertight coated zipper and Deflect water/wind resistant material provide a barrier against unpredictable Colorado weather!

Cool weather and approaching winter doesn’t have to put the brakes on your riding season. Need protection from the cold? We have that! See you at the ‘Haus!
