Ski Haus and the Lake Catamount Touring Center are pleased to present the 4th Annual Pleasant Valley Race Ride Tour Series!

Lake Catamount and Ski Haus are combining Trail Running, Fat Bikes and Skinny Skis into a 5 event series with the emphasis on fun and participation… not just race results. We have the lowest entry fees and we always include lots of added value with t-shirts, tasty burgers, cold beers, fresh donuts, hot coffee, and hot chocolate. We have our fingers crossed that you find all of this too much fun to resist and come out and join the fun!

All events will be held at the Lake Catamount Touring Center. Here is a quick list of dates with a brief description. Kids 12 years old and younger participate for free.

To register online CLICK HERE. You can register for one or all five events. You can also register at Ski Haus or at the Outfitter Cabin at the Lake Catamount Touring Center.

Fall Trail Run – Sunday, September 30, 2018. 10:00 am start. $10 pre-registration. $20 day of registration for all ages.Register online at or at Ski Haus. Your donation entry fee will benefit the local Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund. Entry includes a good looking Race T-Shirt and post race feed with coffee and donuts. Kids 12 years old and younger are free. The start line is on the east side of Lake Catamount at the Heritage Cabin (not at the Outfitter Cabin on the west side of the lake). Choose to run the Sheepherders Trail 1, 2, or 3 times. By choosing between 1.25, 2.25 and 3.25 mile distances – you’ll be able to select the effort that best fits your style – run, power walk, or determined saunter! Elevation gain per lap – 431 feet.

The Sheepherders Trail offers an unique and beautiful view of the Yampa Valley that most of us don’t get to see very often. The course is not overly hard but it is not a cake walk either. There is a pretty stout climb and you’ll need to be nimble on your feet for the descent. A couple times around the trail and you’ll be feeling the effects of a good effort. Come on out and enjoy the beauty and scenery of Lake Catamount.

$10 Entry Fee Donation to Benefit the Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund. Preregister at Ski Haus or online.
Kids 12 years old and younger enter for free. Please Note: Same day registration is $20 for all ages!

  • Miles says:

For the Fat Bike Race and Rides, what are the distances of the short and long courses?

  • Jeff Chamberlain says:

For the “Full Moon Fat Bike Race and Ride – Wednesday, January 16, 2019. 6pm start.” a couple of questions:

1.) Is it still on? Only 3 people registered online (including me and my wife).

2.) Do we meet at the club house at Catamount?

3.) 6PM start, so what time should we arrive, 530?

    • Murray Selleck says:

Hi Jeff, Steamboat is notorious for registering at the last second. I’m surprised we have three preregistered at this early date! Thank you for doing that. Yes, the event is still on. Meet at the Outfitter Cabin down by the lake. Check in there for your bib number and t-shirt. Arrive with enough time to check in and warm up. 5:30 sounds like plenty of time but I’ll leave that up to you. Thanks for participating. This is always a really fun night! Murray
