– The new Rocky Mountain Vertex 20 is precisely what we all dreamed about (and wish existed) when we were kids… A performance mountain bike with all the cool features any grown-up would appreciate, but scaled down for the youngsters.
The Vertex 20 is spec’d with everything from Shimano hydraulic disc brakes to an air-sprung suspension fork with lockout… just like the real thing only smaller! For the sake of durability, easy maintenance, and overall awesomeness, Rocky Mountain ditched a derailleur-actuated gearing system in favor of Sram’s Automatix 2-Speed rear hub. This clever hub will change gear for you based on your speed. There’s no shifter because the centrifugal clutch chooses your gear automatically, making it ideal for future shredders hitting the trail for the first time.
As you may have guessed by the name, the Vertex 20 features a 20” wheel and is offered in an 11” frame. This is anything but a basic kid’s bike, therefore it doesn’t come with a kid-sized price tag. However, the benefits far exceed the cost… just ask the little ones!
