Fat Biking Under February’s Full Snow Moon.
One of the most fun events you can participate in during winter is a fat bike race under a full moon. This Wednesday, February 8th (2017) is your next chance to pedal and howl to your heart’s content. The Pleasant Valley Race Ride Tour Event #3 – Full Moon Fat Bike Race – begins at 6pm at the Lake Catamount Ski Touring Center.
Come race the course or just come and ride. We hope to see you there. The Race/Ride offers either a short course or a long course. Both courses run on groomed Nordic ski tracks and groomed fat bike single tracks featuring fun moderate climbs and fast straightaways.
The entry is $25 and includes a t-shirt (if you haven’t already received one from an earlier 2017 Pleasant Valley Race Ride Tour Event), post ride burger and a beer (vegetarian and non alcoholic options available), and plenty of fun.
Posted are a few pics from January’s Full Moon Fat Bike Race. We had a record number of riders turn out for January’s Fat Bike Race and we’re looking for another great turnout for February. Thanks Michelle for taking the photos!
Preregister online at webscorer.com, at Ski Haus (co-sponsor), or at the Lake Catamount Outfitter Cabin. Arrive Wednesday night with plenty of time to check in, receive your bib number, check course conditions, check your tire pressure, warm up, and be ready to ride.
Bike lights are recommended. The Full Moon will be in the sky but clouds and falling snow may or may not block this brilliant winter light. Be prepared with a light so you see and be seen!
