– The Pleasant Valley Race Ride Tour Series Finale is coming this Sunday March 6th at the Lake Catamount Nordic Center with a Fat Bike Nordic Ski Relay. We are combining big ol Fat Bikes and super skinny skis in a fun two lap relay. Enter this fun event either as a team or individual. Start time is 10:00 am. Kids 12 and younger are free. All others are $15. (Teams pay per person).
Preregister at Ski Haus, Lake Catamount or online at www.webscorer.com
Please be aware that day of registration will close at 9:15 Sunday morning at the Outfitter Cabin. This helps our registration volunteers and timers enough time to get everyone registered and over to the start/finish area with less stress!
Event Details: Sunday March 6. Check in at the Outfitter Cabin at Lake Catamount. Race starts at 10:00 am across the road about 1k away from the Outfitter Cabin. Allow yourself enough time to check in and get yourself and your gear out to the start. Please, please, please park at the Outfitter Cabin and not on County Road 18 at the Start.
The first leg will be skiing counterclockwise a 8k lap (link to course map) that includes the Connector Trail to Elk Crossing Trail back to Connector over to the Pleasant Valley Loop back onto Connector and back to the Start/Finish. Either tag your team member or make the quick equipment change and hop on the bike for the second leg or the relay…
The second leg is biking counterclockwise a 10K lap (link to course map) that includes Connector Trail to Grouse Creek Trail (including some groomed Fat Bike single track trail) back to Connector over to the Baldy Loop (also including some groomed Fat Bike Singletrack sections) and back to the Finish. You may think you’re done but not quite yet!
With both the Ski and the Bike laps finished – now comes the high-tension drama-filled CORNHOLE TIME BONUS! By nailing one or all three bean bag tosses through the Cornhole board you can earn time bonuses to reduce your overall time and perhaps even overtake the rider in front. Don’t forget to breathe!
The first Fat Bike Nordic Ski Relay we held this season was back in December and the conditions weren’t set up perfectly yet. But now they are! Both the ski and biking laps trail conditions should be set up firm and fast and really really fun!
Come join the fun!
