The Ski Haus Footwear department is loaded with great shoes and boots in a wide range of fits. Ski Haus offers the footwear that we use ourselves – day in and day out. Trail runners for the fleet of foot. Hiking boots for day hikes or long through hikes. Water shoes for floating and fishing. Road bike shoes and mountain bike shoes. Every great day begins with great fitting shoes!

Light Hiker

The photo at the top of this post shoes a few of our favorites. For light hiking the Oboz Sawtooth II ($110) is a very durable shoe that will last many miles on the trail. Oboz is known for their insole which is far from the flimsy insole that comes in most footwear these days. This insole cups the heel, supports your arch, and adds comfort while pounding out the miles. The heel counter on the Sawtooth protects your ankle from twisting and the breathable mesh keeps you cool on hot days. Two thumbs up!

Backpacking and Hiking

The Scarpa Zodiac Plus GTX ($250) boot is a versatile work horse. Use this boot as a backpacking boot or your light and fast day hiker. The boot is waterproof so as the snowpack melts from the high country you can plunge right through trails that have become creeks and big mud puddles. (LNT says keep trails narrow by staying on the trail). To the toe lacing helps you fine tune the fit. Vibram sole for great traction on wet rock or dusty trails.

Trail Running

The On Cloudventure trail running shoe ($150) is so light weight it practically feels like you’re not wearing shoes at all. On is a Swiss shoe manufacturer and the excellent reputation of Swiss manufacturing continues with these shoes. The sole offers wonderful traction with their Missiongrip outsole. Multiple grip patters keep you on your feet with changing trail angles and surfaces. Great cushioning for the downhill pounding your feet are susceptible to.

Water Shoe

Salomon’s Techamphibian 4 ($110) is the water shoe for land as well. This shoe is perfect for tubing the Yampa or hiking water trails in the Gila or red rock country. Wear this shoe like a shoe for stability and protection or like a sandal for convenience. Contragrip sole with siping for excellent traction no matter the surface or terrain.

Sandals

The Chaco Z1 Classic ($105) made foot tan lines famous… Adjustable straps for a perfect fit. Supportive footbed for comfort and stability. Sandal-style for the heat. Let your dogs breath!

Casual

Olukai Molo Kapa ($110) is comfort perfected. We like these shoes for date night when work boots and light hikers just won’t do. These are comfortable shoes to wear if you have to spend the day in the city, around any small town, travel, or lounging for recovery after a long day on the bike or trail. Wear the Molo Kapa as a shoe with the heel up or a slip on with the heel down. Your mood will dictate. Olukai is famous for their fit, durability and great looks.

Ski Haus stocks tons of choices in all the active categories in footwear. From biking to rock climbing to hiking and backing to a special date night in town… Ski Haus has your fit!
