Backcountry Ski & Snowboard Routes: Colorado Guidebook Presentation. Friday, December 15, 6:30 pm at Ski Haus. Meet the authors, Frank and Brittany Konsella, fourth man to ski all of Colorado’s 14ers and second woman! These two know a thing or two about traveling safe through the winter backcountry and descending some very exciting backcountry runs.
So whether you are an experienced backcountry skier or snowboarder or an intermediate skier looking to ramp up you out-of-bouinds expeditions, Brittany and Frank, can point you in the right direction. The Konsellas and their guidebook have the experience and information to guide you to the Colorado’s very special runs to suite your abilities.
From the powder hound mecca of the Park Range (our backyard) in Northern Colorado to the rugged cirques of the Indian Peaks in the Front Range to the steep couloirs of the Sangre de Cristos in the south, the Konsellas have skied them all. Every route in this new guidebook can be done in a single day but there are also many options for creating casual overnight trips, too.
Come hear the Konsellas as they share their favorite Colorado routes while offering backcountry tips related to avalanche safety, route timing and planning, and navigation. Whatever your skill level, from easy and moderate tours to steeper, more challenging advanced routes, there’s something here for anyone who loves powder snow and is itching to find new runs this winter!
There will be a slideshow presentation, a chance to ask questions, and refreshments. See you Friday night!
