Who, Where, What, When
The start line is on the east side of Lake Catamount at the Heritage Cabin (not at the Outfitter Cabin on the west side of the lake). Arrive with enough time to check in, warm up, and be ready to run at 10:00 am.
At the Pleasant Valley Fall Trail Run you can choose to run the Sheepherders Trail 1, 2, or 3 times. By choosing between 1.0 mile, 2.5 mile, or 3.5 mile distances – you’ll be able to select the effort that best fits your style – run, power walk, or determined saunter! Elevation gain per lap – 431 feet.
All Are Welcome
Please note: Everyone is welcome to attend. Some participants will run fast, give it their all, and push themselves to their limits. We also encourage those who want to walk the trail briskly, enjoy the beauty of a crisp Fall morning, and enjoy the camaraderie of a good effort no matter their age or determination. All are welcome.
The Sheepherders Trail offers an unique and beautiful view of the Yampa Valley that most of us don’t get to see very often. The course is not overly hard but it is not a cake walk either. There is a pretty stout climb and you’ll need to be nimble on your feet for the descent. A couple times around the trail and you’ll be feeling your good effort. Come on out and play. Come on out and enjoy the beauty and scenery of Lake Catamount!
Kids 12 years old and younger enter for free. Please Note: Same day registration is $20 for all ages!
Hope to see you there!

We’ve seen all kinds of weather for this trail run from glorious blue-bird mornings to pretty soggy conditions. Rain or shine the run will take place. If it is a heavy weather day break out your goretex, your waterproof shoes, and your fierce attitude. Why do you own that gear anyway? See you at the Trail Run!
