It was a perfect morning for a fall trail run at Lake Catamount. Cool and crisp. Cloudless blue sky. Wonderful Autumn colors in the aspen, oak, and cottonwood trees. And lots of runners of all ages willing to start their Sunday morning with an invigorating trail run.
Everyone who participated enjoyed the ups and downs of the Sheepherders Trail. The course distance is a bit short but the terrain more than makes up for it with a stout ascent and test-your-agility descent.
Fast runners, run-walkers, strolling couples, and those who took in the morning at their leisure with a casual saunter all attended. The run was topped off with post-run refreshments of coffee, hot chocolate, and fresh donuts.
The Sheepherders Trail at Lake Catamount is not typically open to public except for this once a year event. This event is a great chance to be on a trail you don’t often get the chance to experience. The new perspective of the Yampa Valley is unique and it’s really, really, pretty back there.
This event is a fund raiser for the Tail Maintenance Endowment Fund and we’re pleased to make a nice donation to the cause. Remember this event for next year. Bring a couple friends. Bring the entire family. Come on out and enjoy an beautiful Autumn day at the Pleasant Valley Fall Trail Run hosted by Ski Haus and Lake Catamount Ranch and Club.
